National Leadership Program, Spring 2025

Miles Robinson
Miles Robinson is a Policy and Civic Engagement Fellow in Disability Belongs™’ National Leadership Program for Spring 2025. Disability Belongs™ is a national nonprofit organization fighting stigmas and advancing opportunities so that people with disabilities can fully participate in all aspects of community.
Robinson was born deaf in one ear. While his deafness presented challenges for him throughout life, it was the experiences of disabled people around him and their stories of neglect, mistreatment, and exclusion that truly sparked his interest in accessibility advocacy. Using his existing passion for the political process, Robinson joined his high school student government explicitly for the purpose of promoting accessibility. While in office, he helped to create several accessible events for all students. He continued these efforts as Student Director of Legislative Affairs and Diversity at Old Dominion University. In that capacity, Robinson helped to increase accessibility in virtual settings as well as reforming how inaccessible physical infrastructure is reported on. He also led a committee of senators in rewriting the organization’s constitution and bylaws.
Robinson graduated from Old Dominion with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a Minor in Geography. After graduating, he worked for the Democratic National Committee, working with the President, the White House, the Democratic Nominee for President, and other party principles to background check thousands of potential and eventual contacts. Robinson is an experienced leader and advocate with passions for policy, disability rights, civil rights, and ensuring a just future for those who still suffer.
